ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- Head Coach Garry Crowder, of the Ouachita Lady Tiger basketball program, has announced the signings of two stellar forwards. Both players will arrive on campus in the fall of 2013, joining the Lady Tiger basketball team.
 
Joy Okeke, a 5'10 forward who attended Lake Highland High School in Dallas, comes to Ouachita after averaging close to a double-double in high school. She was named a First Team All-District selection in 2012, while also garnering Defensive Player of the Year honors during her senior season. She was also named the Most Valuable Player for her team. She averaged 9.8 points per game, 10.5 rebounds per game and 2.3 steals per game during her senior year, including a 9.9 point per game and 11.5 rebound per game mark in district play.
 
Okeke was not only a great player her senior year though, as she was awarded a Second Team All-District Selection in 2011. She was also named her team's Offensive Player of the Year. In 2010, she was named Honorable Mention All-District and team Offensive Player of the Year. She played AAU basketball for the D.C. Queens and was named MVP of the Denver, Colorado AAU Tournament in 2009.
 
Okeke is not only active in basketball, but also participated on her school's color guard. She is a member of the Fellowship of Basketball Athletes and an honor roll student. She is a member of the Glory of God Mission Church, where she has served as an usher and volunteers her time at Methodist Hospital.
