DC ON THE GREEN

DC on the Green was founded March 2019 in hopes of bringing more awareness of the game to the younger generation.

Our mission is to teach the sport of Golf and valuable life skills on and off the golf course to the youth. Although golf is nationally recognized as a varsity sport, most youth still aren’t privy to the sport or the scholarships that are available due to the lack of exposure. Therefore, we created DC on the Green Youth Golf/Mentoring Program to bridge this gap.

In order to continue with our mission DC on the Green rely on your generous donations and sponsors to help the youth in our program to reach their full potential. Therefore, all proceeds will go to continue that mission and to sponsor deserving "Junior Golfers" with personal golf lessons; compensation for Golf Instructors and Golf equipment / supplies for our golf program.

As a non-profit organization with 501(c) (3) status, all donations are tax deductible (receipts will be provided upon request).

A year-round program designed for boys and girls in middle school through high school. This program is offered to all beginners, intermediate and advanced golfers.

Classes are organized into ten (10) skill levels and taught by an experienced PGA golf professional. All students start at level (1) and advance to the next level only by passing a challenge test to assess their mastery of that particular level.

Intermediate and advanced students may bypass lower levels by passing the level's skills challenge.

Orientation will be conducted at the beginning of the 1st session. At that time each student will receive the following: DC on the Green shirt, hat/visor & group photo with their respective instructor.

Any additional required forms will be provided to parents during the orientation.

Based on your course location each student will attend either five-week (5), six-week (6) or eight-week (8) 1.5hr sessions. Skill level advancements will be based on instructor’s assessment.

After the completion of each level, the student golfer must register through DC on the Green for their next level advancement.

Depending on your course location during BAD WEATHER DAYS there may be an indoor facility provided or a make-up date will be announced based on your instructor.

Each student golfer must wear appropriate golf clothing ("Golf shirt, hat/visor which can be bought from DC Sports Store") and student golfer must wear khaki bottoms (pants/shorts or skirt). Appropriate clothing prohibits sweatpants, cutoffs, jeans, tank tops (for boys), or gym shorts. All students must wear tennis or golf shoes.

Golf clubs may be provided based on course location. Students without clubs may borrow from the academy based on availability.
